Into Middle Leadership in Schools is a resource designed to assist and enhance the professional learning of those who aspire to be middle leaders in schools as well as recently appointed middle leaders.  It has been developed by former headteacher and education consultant Dick Lynas based on his vast experience of delivering professional learning for leaders in education.

Into Middle Leadership in Schools is targeted at:

  • classroom teachers who are interested in learning about the functions and qualities that are called for from middle leaders in schools
  • teachers who have been appointed to an acting middle leadership role
  • serving middle leaders who wish to refresh their skills.

Local authority and school professional learning coordinators who are keen to promote a collaborative approach in and across schools to develop the knowledge, skills and values of aspiring middle leaders, not least with regard to raising pupil attainment, will also find the materials useful.

The resource can be used in part or whole by individuals, or used by schools, clusters or local authorities to deliver a collaborative programme or inform existing programmes.
